Skiing around Bolzano

  • Today Latemar. Tomorrow Catinaccio. The day after, perhaps Renon.

Staying in Bolzano makes it possible to decide anew every day in winter where to go.

Obereggen – skiing beneath the Latemar
Obereggen is part of the Latemar Dolomites ski area and is one of the best-known ski areas around Bolzano. Modern lifts, varied slopes and the panorama of the Latemar make it one of our favourites for a classic day of skiing in the Dolomites.

    Carezza – beneath the Catinaccio
Skiing against a backdrop you already know from Trianglhof: the Catinaccio.
Carezza lies directly beneath this striking Dolomite massif and combines sunny slopes with impressive views. Particularly enjoyable for families and anyone who prefers to take their ski day at a more leisurely pace.

Renon – small, sunny and scenic
Renon is a wonderful alternative to the large Dolomites ski areas.
Manageable slopes, plenty of sunshine and wide views of the Dolomites make the area particularly enjoyable for families and leisurely skiers. Winter hikers and tobogganers will also find plenty to enjoy here.

Reinswald – winter in the Sarntal valley
A little more unspoilt and also within easy reach of Bolzano: Reinswald in the Sarntal valley.
Here you’ll find varied slopes, snow-covered mountain scenery and a winter day away from the large ski resorts.

Jochgrimm – an easy escape into the snow
Small, manageable and surrounded by mountains:

Jochgrimm is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed day of skiing.
It is also a lovely alternative for families and for a spontaneous day in the snow.

Alpe di Siusi – wide open spaces and Dolomites views
Alpe di Siusi offers a completely different kind of winter day: wide slopes, plenty of sunshine and a panorama you won’t soon forget.
Alongside skiing, Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine pasture is particularly beautiful for winter hiking and cross-country skiing.

Six ski areas. 30–45 minutes. A new choice every day. One home in Bolzano.

    And then there’s the Sellaronda.

Four Dolomite passes. Four valleys. And a whole day on skis around the Sella massif.

The Sellaronda is one of the great skiing experiences in the Dolomites and can be planned as a day trip from Trianglhof. Set off early in the morning towards the Dolomites, then ski all the way around the Sella massif – with ever-changing views of some of South Tyrol’s most spectacular mountain scenery.

    In the evening?
Back to Bolzano. Out of your ski boots. And back home among the vineyards.

Winter without skis

ot every winter day needs a ski slope.

Around Bolzano, there are plenty of opportunities for winter hiking, tobogganing and cross-country skiing. Renon and Alpe di Siusi in particular invite you to discover South Tyrol’s winter landscape at a slower pace.

Put on your boots, step out into the snow and simply set off.

Ice skating between city and mountains

Ice is part of winter around Bolzano, too – even away from the ski slopes.

In Bolzano, you can take to the ice at the Sparkasse Arena. If you’d like to turn it into a little winter excursion, head up to Renon: at the Ritten Arena in Collalbo, a 400-metre outdoor ice rink awaits against an impressive Dolomites backdrop. This is where speed skaters from around the world come to train – and during public skating sessions, guests can take to the ice themselves.

Christmas Market in Bolzano

When the lights come on in Piazza Walther and the scent of mulled wine, cinnamon and South Tyrolean specialities drifts through the city, a very special time of year begins.

The Bolzano Christmas Market is one of South Tyrol’s best-known Christmas markets. From the Trianglhof, a visit can easily be combined with a winter day in the mountains.

Strolling through the city

Bolzano is simply part of a winter stay, too. Stroll beneath the arcades, stop for a coffee, visit one of the museums or discover the quieter side of the old town.

And the best part? Bolzano’s old town is just a few minutes from the Trianglhof.
